Alliance Motors Dupe Ghanaian Business Man By Selling Defective Vehicle To Him

In a writ filed at Accra High Court and intercepted by Radio 1 News, Alliance Motors is accused of allegedly duping the Chief Executive Officer of Marketicons, Mr Samuel Awuah Dankwa by selling to him a defective Land Rover worth $105,000 as at April 2014 and blatantly ignoring to either servicing it or changing it for the business mogul.

In the writ, Alliance Motors Ghana, a limited liability company registered under the laws of Ghana and established to undertake car sales and servicing particularly Land Rover Vehicles is sued for selling a faulty Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE of Registration Number GN 2093-14 on 10th April 2014.

This luxurious car that is said to last for a period of years before detecting any faults however short-lived, encountered several problems starting with water accumulating in the engine when it rains to the extent of rigorous leakage of oil from the luxurious but defective vehicle.

According to the writ Mr Samuel Awuah Dankwah, the plaintiff has constantly reported the faults to the company and the defendant who happens to be Alliance Motors promised a discount of 10% on parts and 50% on the next servicing mileage but have since not kept to the promise.

However, the plaintiff averred that in a decision for the defendant to change his vehicle for him, they rather demand additional $50,000 meanwhile the inability for the defective car to function well has cost him to lose a lot of business opportunities and therefore appeals to the court of competent jurisdiction to come to his asap since he is losing huge sums of money when this vehicle is not mobile.

That notwithstanding, the plaintiff says in the writ that by the reason of the events recounted due to the defective vehicle sold to him he has suffered economic and emotional loss and feels cheated. Radio 1 News cited the particular damages as: Grave emotional stress, Severe trauma, Humiliation, Embarrassment and discomfort, Extreme depression, loss of income, loss of time, loss of business opportunities and therefore seeks immediate redress of the matter.
