Committees Work Will Proceed Irrespective Of Court Suit, Hon. Anthony Karbo

Prior the vetting of Martin Amidu for the special prosecutor position many argument have risen and looking into the issue Hon. Anthony Karbo explained further the main reason behind the vetting.

He revealed during an interview with joy news this morning that appointing Martin Amidu is not a partisan thing. It’s an appointment for Ghana and international communities, and International Organizations are all looking to what this appointment committee will do. “Like the president said this appointment is one of the unchartered”. He quoted.

According to Hon. Anthony, No one has really gone into the special prosecutor position to know what really goes on. “We have never really gone into it neither do we know the extent of his work. We as a committee are only trying to go into him and understand what mandate he has and what the law says and how he is going to organize himself to do this work.” He said.

He was however quick to add that whatever that is going on in court is completely different an issue. “what we are doing here is to access his competence to deliver on the job, and for the court suit it is two separate issues and i think the committee will proceed with its work irrespective of what is happening in court. It has no consequence to the event that we are conducting today.” He added.
