Dissolution of KNUST Board Long Overdue – Alhaji Opass

The Eastern Regional Deputy Communication Director of the ruling New patriotic Party, NPP who doubles as the acting Nation Builders Corps,  NABCO coordinator in the eastern Region, Alhaji Opass has said the dissolution of the KNUST Council Board should have been earlier than now.

Speaking on Radio1Fm 100.7HMZ, Susubiribi morning show on Friday 26th October 2018, he expressed his deepest surprise of the chaos at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST and was disappointed in both the student body and the school authority while he wondered how such would happen in the 21st Century.

According to Alhaji in this our modern technology era, every situation must be solved in humanistic manner especially in the university level where they teach a course like conflict resolution.

He said he is very surprise because the university is a level where they know different type of leadership styles.

Nevertheless, he said the school should have sought the opinion of the students, be in consensus agreement before taking any decision on the matter since the students are the main concern.

However, he also condemned the act of the student as in vandalizing school properties, because they are highly educated enough to know the right way to take for their voices to be heard.

Alhaji Opass finally concluded that, he thinks we should be very careful when dealing with traditions and culture, Even though he believes dissolving the council board was the best thing to do in handling this situation and also expressed his deepest disappointed in the school leadership in whole..
