Awuah Dankwah Educational Fund in collaboration with Concern Youth Association of Akyem Awenare (COYAA) in the Atiwa West District in Eastern region on Wednesday, 26th December, 2018 rewarded about 40 pupils in Awenare with learning materials worth ₵5,000 to facilitate the education of the natives.
This maiden program has come to stay so says the CEO of Marketicons, Mr Awuah Dankwah.
The criteria for selecting the awardees was the best 2 pupils in each class in the 2 basic schools in the community. The prizes were composed of books, pens, pencils, School bags, Math sets among other special awards.
In an interview with the CEO of Marketicons, Mr Awuah Dankwah, he told Radio 1 News that he is ever ready to continue what he has started as he intends to sponsor the best pupil in the community from SHS to the University. According to him he has given the teaser of his project, 1 Child at a time. That is taking care of a child each year after the BECE results, however, he promised to extend it should the need be.
He used the opportunity to appeal to his fellow colleagues and well meaning natives of Awenare to do same and support the education in the community since education is the only way that can transform the lives of a majority of the indigenes.
The initiative was very well embraced by the community since the program was graced by the chiefs, churches, Heads of the schools, the assembly member of the area, other opinion leaders and almost the entire community. He hailed the MP for Atiwa West District for his tremendous support for communities.
Akyem Awenare is the hometown of the Member of Parliament for Atiwa West District who doubles as the minister of roads and highways, Hon. Amoako Atta.
