Hon. Atta Akyea, Member of Parliament, MP, for Abuakwa south constituency and doubles as Works and housing Minister said every court is important and must have beautiful infrastructure to produce conducive atmosphere for ensuring good judgment.

Addressing a gathering on Friday 24th August, 2018, at Kyebi during ceremony to dedicate and donate a high court in honor of the late Nana Ofori Atta I for his selfless service honored the Nation and the people of Akyem Abuakwa.

He recounted occasions where several courts elsewhere in the country are rented houses and at certain points in time while having court proceedings, tenants of the house would be cooking and the aroma would diffuse into the court room and occasionally can distort court jurisdiction.

He also cited a condition where landlords would be rearing animals and during the proceedings, animals would be roaming the room and others sheep will be bleating.

Hon. Atta Akyea went on to charge the Stakeholders not to accept goats, cow and sheep in order to distort judgment. He challenged them to bring back the quality of judgment during the era of Nana Ofori Atta I, since he was and embodiment of fair judgment and integrity. “Let us bring back the quality of judgment we had at Kyebi” he said.

He added that when integrity is restored at the Kyebi High Court, the poor man will leave the court and go home satisfied.

The program was one of the schedules of the 75Th anniversary of the late Nana Ofori Atta I. Today would be the thanksgiving service at the Presbyterian Church at Kyebi.
