Ghanaian Players’ Performances Abroad Over The Weekend

Over the weekend saw a host of Ghanaian players featured in their respective teams while others warmed bench when Albert Adomah only could watch the match through injury.

Below are the breakdown of the individual efforts as assembled by Papa Mensah Capogee of Radio 1FM, 100.7MHZ;

ENGLAND

Jeffrey Schlupp cameoed while Jordan Ayew warmed the bench for Crystal Palace as they recorded their first home victory in the league after beating Burnley 2-0.

Huddersfield lost 2-1 at home to Brighton Collin Quaner missed the game for the Terriers through injury.

Leicester City beat Watford 2-0 at home: Daniel Amartey missed the action for the Foxes through injury.

Newcastle United lost 3-0 at home to West Ham United. Christian Atsu came on in the 54th minute for the losers.

In the Championship, Andy Yiadom played 90 minutes for Reading FC in their 2-2 draw with Stoke City.

Albert Adomah missed Aston Villa 3-0 win over Middlesbrough through injury.

In the National League, Nortei Notey warmed the bench for Dover Athletic in their 2-2 draw with Eastleigh.

Harold Odametey and Nana Owusu all warmed the bench for Maidenhead when they lost 2-1 to Harrogate.

In the FA Cup, Kwame Thomas came on in the 79th minute for Solihull Moors when they played goalless with Blackpool FC. Joe Dodoo was substituted in the 82nd minute for Blackpool.

Alex Addai climbed off the bench to score a consolation for Cheltenham Town in their 3-1 loss at Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup.

AFC Wimbledon won 3-1 against FC Halifax Town in the FA Cup. Kwesi Appiah was not part of the victors team.

Brandon Wiredu cameoed for Charlton Athletic when they lost 2-0 to Doncaster Rovers.

Bernard Mensah warmed the bench for Lincoln City when they won 2-0 against Carlisle United.

Daniel Agyei scored his ninth goal for Burnley U23 in their 2-2 draw with West Brom U23.

SPAIN

Isaac Coffie was substituted in the 56th minute for Sporting Gijon when they won 2-1 against Tenerife in the Laliga 2.

ITALY

Afriyie Acquah warmed the bench for Empoli in

their 2-2 draw with Spal.

Godfred Donsah warmed the bench for Bologna when they lost 4-1 to Sampdoria.

Seria B: Bright Addae lasted the entire duration of the game for Ascoli and recorded an assist as they beat Spezia 3-1. Emmanuel Gyasi was substituted in the 85th minute for the losers.

GERMANY

Hans Nunoo Sarpei warmed the bench for VfB Stuttgart when they piped Augsburg 1-0.

Kasim Nuhu played 90 minutes and was booked for TSG Hoffenheim when they played a pulsating 1-1 draw with Schalke 04. Baba Rahman was not part of Schalke’s matchday team.

In the Bundasliga 2, Bernard Tepketey played full throttle and was booked for SC Paderborn 07 when they played a 2-2 draw with Arminia Bielefeld. Prince Owusu was introduced on the 80th minute mark for Bielefeld.

David Atanga was substituted in the 64th minute for Greuther Furth when they were thrashed 4-0 by FC Koln.

Bundasliga 3: German-born Ghanaian Steffan Nkansah captained Eintracht Braunschweig to a 2-2 draw with Aalen.

Braydon Manu played full throttle for Hallescher against Preussen Munster. They won 2-1.

Daniel Kofi Kyere was absent from SV Wehen’s team that beat Lotte 2-0.

FRANCE

Grejohn Kyei was left out of RC Lens matchday when they played out a 2-2 draw with Lorient.

FC Nantes lost 3-0 to Saint Etienne. Majeed Waris was substituted in the 68th minute while Enoch Kwateng played 90 minutes for the losers.

Lawrence Ati Zigi was an unused substitute for Sochaux when they lost 1-0 to Chatearoux.

Ebenezer Assifuah cameoed for Le Havre in their 1-1 draw with AJ Auxerre.

John Boye was booked when he played 90 minutes for FC Metz in their 1-1 draw with Grenoble.

AUSTRIA

Samuel Tetteh came on in the 63rd minute for LASK Linz when played a 3-3 draw with Hartberg.

Seth Painstil was missing in action for Admira Wacker when they played 2-2 with SV Mattersburg.

BELGIUM

KAA Gent played 2-2 with Sporting Lokeren. Nana Kwesi Asare captained Gent and played full throttle for Gent.

Bernard Kumordzi secured 90 minutes for Kortrijk when they piped Mouscron 1-0.

Daniel Opare played the first half while William Owusu was an unused substitute for Royal Antwerp as they lost 1-3 to Sint Truiden. Samuel Asamoah played 90 minutes for the victors even as Divine Narh out of the 78 mins he faetured for Tubize FC, he made 1 assist to help them trash Union St – Gilloise 2 nil.

BULGARIA

Derrick Mensah warmed the bench when his side Dunav Ruse lost 3-0 to Levski Sofia.

Michael Tawiah was left out of Vereya matchday that played 2-2 draw with Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

CROATIA

Obeng Regan played 71 minutes for Istra 1961 when they lost 2-0 to his former side Inter Zapresic at home.

Maxwell Boadu Acosty cameoed for NK Rijeka when they won 2-1 against Osijek.

Ahmed Said was missing in action for Hadjuk Split as they thrashed Rudes 4-1.

DENMARK

Emmanuel Oti Essigba played full throttle for Esbjerg FB when they lost 4-1 to Aalborg BK.

HUNGARY

Abraham Frimpong played full throttle for Ferencvaros when they thrashed Paks 3-0.

INDIA

Daniel Add o played 90 minutes for Gokulam in their 1-1 draw with Churchill Brothers.

North East United played a goalless draw game with Jamshedpur. Augustine Okrah did not make the team for North East Utd

MONTENEGRO

Alex Yamoah was not in the squad for Zeta when they played goalless draw with Mornar Bar.

RUSSIA

Dinamo Moscow played a pulsating 1-1 draw with Rubin Kazan in the Russian Premier League. Abdul-Aziz Tetteh was not included in Dynamo’s team for the match.

Anzhi Makhachkala played goalless with Ufa.

Rabiu Mohammed couldn’t play due to injury

ROMANIA

Lawson Bekui played 13 minutes for Poli Lasi when they played 1-1 with Sepsi. Joseph Mensah also cameoed for Sepsi.

SOUTH AFRICA

Samuel Darphoh warmed the bench for Amazulu when they won 1-0 against Chippa Utd.

Nana Akosah-Bempah warmed the bench for Cape Town City FC when they lost 2-0 to Highlands

Richard Ofori kept a clean sheet and was also booked for Maritzburg United in their goalless draw with Orlando Pirates.

SERBIA

Francis Kyeremeh played 69 minutes for Radnik in their goalless draw game with Zemun.

Samuel Owusu played 90 minutes for NK Cukaricki when they lost 1-0 to Macva.

Zakaria Suraka played 90 minutes for Dinamo Vranje when they lost 4-0 to Radnicki Nis.

SLOVENIA

Eric Boakye played full throttle for NK Olimpija Ljubljana in their 8-goal thriller with NK Aluminij. They lost 6-2.

SLOVAKIA

Osman Bukari played full throttle for Trencin when they lost 3-0 at home to Slovan Bratislava. Mitch Apau lasted the period of the game for the victors.

Sadam Sulley came on in the 72nd minute for Michalovce and was booked in their 3-0 win against ZiON Moravce.

Benson Annang played 86 minutes for MSK Zilina when they drew 2- 2 with Dun. Streda.

SWITZERLAND

Majeed Ashimeru was a 62nd minute substitute for St. Gallen when they lost 2-0 to FC Thun.

TURKEY

Isaac Sackey played 65 minutes and was booked for Alanyaspor when they lost 2-1 to Konyaspor.

Bernard Mensah played full throttle while Asamoah Gyan cameoed for Keyserispor when they lost 1-0 at home to Trabzonspor. Caleb Ekuban missed the game for victors after he was granted some days off to attend to mum’s funeral.

Mahatma Otoo played 90 minutes for Balikesirspor when they played goalless with Denizlispor.

QATAR

Lawrence Quaye played full throttle for Umm-Salal while Baro Babo Saddiqi warmed the bench for Al Ahli Doha when they played goalless draw. John Benson and Fred Dabanka were not included in the team for Al Ahly Doha.
