I Almost Gave Up On Acting – Jacqueline Asamoah

Born and bred in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Jacqueline Asamoah is one fine young actress who is making almost everybody in the movie industry very proud, though she disclosed she almost gave up on acting sometime ago until her passion was rekindled.

As young as she is, her passion has kept her in the movie industry for over 3 years now and she is determined to make it huge locally and internationally with her craft.

According to her, she has been disappointed after attending over twenty auditions in Accra and Kumasi especially until one out of the lots gave her the spotlight and since then she has not relented nor slept on her dreams of becoming a household name in the country.

“Being a lady in the movie industry is extremely difficult but it takes the determined ones to sail through successfully without entertaining some hindrances,” she confessed.

She further said “I have been in the industry for almost 4 years. I almost gave up for two years until my a few friends who believed and still believe in me encouraged me to keep it going.”

Her enthusiasm and zeal brought her back after giving up for two years when she thought she wasn’t given the opportunity though she believed in herself and the ones that came her way came with some complications as a young lady.

The talented outspoken actress, one day felt so terrible of herself and had to engage God for her woes until a production house based in Accra contracted her for her first major movie titled LOVE RULES of which she was the main character and it featured actors like, Eddie Nartey, Mikki Osei Berko, Martha Ankomah, Naa Ashorkor, Augustine Abbey, Ian Jazzi among others.

For Jacqueline she plies her movie profession in Ghallywood (Accra) and Kumawood (Kumasi) has worked with actors like Mustapha Adams, Theophilus Amoabeng, Kofi Asamoah, Jones Agyemang, Nana Obiri Yeboah, Juliet Asante and Kwaw Ansah and some other notable actors and actresses in the country.

She can fit in any role and execute it perfectly without difficulties. Be it a mad person, mother, schoolgirl, prostitute, trader, officer, grandmother among others. Her talent has landed her in a very captivating and new series titled RUN which will soon be aired on Atinka TV and Angel TV.

She stressed that there is so much money in the series than in movies though she didn’t mention the amount she normally earns with series and movies. However, she is ready for any of them that comes her way.
