I Know Nothing About The Stolen ICT Lab Accessories – Abigail Elorm

It was alleged that the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Laboratory which was built under the former NDC administration at Dwenase, a community close to Osino in the Fanteakwa District of the Eastern region have been broken and stolen.

Reacting to this allegations on Radio 1 breakfast show ”Susubribi” with Captain Kofi Owusu, the former presidential candidate of the NDC for Fanteakwa District, Hon. Abigail Elorm Mensah explained that, she overheard the allegations, even though she was out of the country that people have stolen all the assets in the ICT lab which contained a lot of computers, printers, other machines that was to serve as internet for the place, photocopier machines and others.

”Immediately after I heard the case I called the coordinating director and also the Queen mother to report the case to the police to take inventory about the incident even before I comes back to Ghana. I took the pain about the lost of the accessories and so as at yesterday I have handed over everything to the community leaders.” she stated.

According to her, she notice that, the whole of Fanteakwa District lack amenities especially ICT lab which could help improve the students studies especially those in the high schools inside and the communities around Osino will benefit from it as well.

”So I appealed to the Chief of the Dwenase Community for a land to build the ICT centre for them and by the help of the Ministry of Communication, the project was completed.” she stated.

She further explained that everything in the ICT centre was intact as at the time she was leaving Dwenase to Accra after the election.

”During the inauguration of the Centre which was done by the MCE of East Akim District, Hon. Peter Asirifi  and so the key was handed over to the Queen mother of the community, and according to the Queen mother, she handed over the key to the community when she was travelling after the last year’s Christmas, but the community have handed over the key to the Coordinating director after the  incident so I know nothing about the stolen items at the ICT Centre.” she explained.

Hon. Elorm Mensah appealed to the police to investigate the case and arrest the culprits.
