“NDC Boycotted The MP’s Swearing-In, Because Their Root is Violence” – Alhaji Umar Boudinga

The eastern regional, first vice chairman for the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, Alhaji Umar Boudinga, has said he is not surprise the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC amazingly disgraced themselves where the minority MPs boycotted the swearing- in of  the newly elected member of parliament for Ayawaso-west Wuogon, Mrs Lydia Seyram Alhassan  because just as former prez Mahama said, their root is violence.

The minority in parliament on yesterday February 5 2019 boycotted the swearing- in of Hon. Lydia Alhassan  and showcased placards of intimidating inscriptions such as “Bloody widow” yet the swearing – in was successful.

In a studio discussion on the Susubiribi morning show on Radio 1FM on Wednesday February 06 2019, the vibrant NPP first vice chairman, who is popularly known as “field Marshal” clearly told the host Captain kofi Owusu that the NDC MPs goofed yesterday by their actions.

He added that they had every right to stage walk out but to the extent of showing placards with the inscription of “Bloody widow” as if Hon. Lydia Alhassan killed her husband is totally unacceptable.

“The minority have the right to stage a walk out because our constitution permits it. But it is bad to show placards with the inscription ‘Bloody Woman’ as if she killed her late husband… and i am not surprised because former president John Dramani Mahama has said their root is violence so there is no way one wouldn’t expect that from a violent party.” Alhaji Umar Boudinga stressed.

Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan won the just ended Ayawaso-west Wuogon by-election after the demise of her late husband. The election that was marred with brutalities was described by the minority as unsafe and therefore pulled out of the contest yet she won with 68% to succeed her late husband on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP. However, her swearing-in was met with the minority snubbing the process. Several people have spoken against the act yet the NDC is resolute on their decision of boycott.
