Dr Kofi Akpaloo, founder and leader of the opposition Liberal Party of Ghana, LPG, has said the decision by the Electoral Commission, EC to revert its logo is not a major priority of the commission now.
He said the commission must focus on creation of the new regions by putting structures in place than alluding to the mere logo brouhaha.
In a phone interview on BEKYEREMU, a political show on Radio 1Fm, 100.7MHZ, on Thursday December 6, 2018, he told the host Owurakou Asamoah that there are other critical issues in EC than the logo.
He said the attention gained by the reverting the logo is not necessary, however, reverting it is not a bad idea for it will also crate job for some Ghanaians. According to him the commission is at liberty to tamper with its logo without consulting any other person.
He also refuted claims by UFP founder, Gyataba that the political parties were consulted before the change. He said nothing of that sort occurred except being informed after his decision had already taken and she was at liberty to accept or reject any advice.
The new EC boss has sent Directive to the EC offices across the nation to revert to the old logo on any entity belonging to the commission
