The General Manager of Universal Company limited operators of Ahotor fm (92.3) and Radio One(100.7) who doubles as the National Democratic Congress’ Parliamentary Candidate hopeful, in the Yilo Krobo constituency, of the eastern region Mr. Michael Ologo has expressed his profound elation and delight to the various groups for the kind of role they played which culminated into the victory of the vice Chairman for the NDC.
He intimated that as a leading member of VOA, it is incumbent for him to recognize the hard work and selfless dedication by the youths after the party’s 9th National Delegates Conference which came off on the 17th November 2018 leading to the crowning of Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo as the substantive National Chairman for the party for the next four years.
The Yilo Parliamentary hopeful who is also a very influential team member of ” Vote Ofosu Ampofo” an acronym for harsh tag “VOA” explained that the “VOA” appeal rate on both mainstream and traditional media in the heat of the campaign mood strategically positioned the course of Hon. Samuel Ofosu in a Pole slot, as its canvases for support on daily basis gave Mr. Ofosu Ampofo, an edge over his challengers, who appeared to be very passive and dormant in the media space when the campaign reached a substantial crescendo, and adding that all these wouldn’t have been made possible without the involvement of gallant men and women who spent manhours to campaign for Mr. Ampofo.
He posited that ” I salute all of these proactive voices and dedicated persons who campaigned vigorously for us to win the contest”
During a radio interview he granted to Ahotor fm on Tuesday, Mr. Michael Ologo noted to host of Oman Yi Nsem, Onantefour Addae Munumkum that, the camp of team VOA is overwhelmed by the level of massive supports enjoyed by Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo during his campaign tour in the regions , and on the eave of the climax of the event at the Trade Fair Site in Accra. He stated that, the strong affirmation by the team and well wishers help the candidate to forge on till victory was achieved. He subsequently thanked them for the extreme yeoman’s job that they did.
The NDC Parliamentary hopeful further revealed that, the victory of the elected National Chairman is premised on unwavering input and contributions by individuals and groups who were relentless in their guest to see to it that Hon. Ampofo secured victory on the day.
After close of polling on Sunday, the Electoral officer who supervised the election process at congress declared Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo as the elected National Chairman for the NDC. Mr. Ofosu Ampofo managed to secured 3656 of valid votes cast twice to what his main challenger Ambassador Dan Abodakpi gunned in the region of 2189 votes respectively.
Michael Ologo extended warmest thanks giving to the delegates for having the trust and confident in the chairmanship of Hon. Ampofo, and also implored the grassroots to help in the reviving process of the base in the party, especially at the branches and constituencies across the country.
He advised the supporters to eschew rancor and incessant attacks against individuals and groups who do not concur to the mission and vision of Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, and further admonished them to see themselves as one family in the NDC. He similarly advised them that Mr. Ofosu Ampofo detest any form of incendiary attacks on any member of the NDC, and that it behooves on them to protect the peace and goodwill in the NDC as the party prepares to go for the Presidential primaries to elect a flagbearer who will lead the party for the 2020 general Polls, and again aver that 2020 is the ultimate priority by the Priority.
