The Heat Of Free SHS: Parents Threatened To Beat Minister

The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon Eric Kwakye Darfour has directed parents who couldn’t get admission for their children due to accommodation challenges to go home.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon Eric Kwakye Darfour who is touring some SHS’s in the region gave the above directive when he visited Mamfe Methodist Girls Senior High School.

The directive for the parents to go home infuriated the parents who threatened to beat the regional minister.

Some stranded parents have been sleeping in the school for the past three days in the hope that their wards will be admitted to the school.

The Headmistress of Mamfe Methodist Girls Senior High School, Madam Silvia Isabela Laryea said the school has limited dormitories to admit the students.

Madam Silvia Isabela Laryea explained that, the school has the strength to accommodate only 400 students but more than 800 students were posted to the school by the Computer School Selection Placement System (CSSPS).
