The Chief of Akyem Nsutam in the Eastern Region of Ghana, Osabarima Baafi Sarpong Kumankoma, appeals to the indigenes, Government, Government Agencies, Non-Governmental Agencies, General Public and all the Generous, being it a group or individuals to come to their aid in building a community Library for the people of Akyem Nsutam.
He indicated that the library, if actualized, would help raise the standard of education in the community and will also be used as avenue for generating funds to sponsor the brilliant but needy students in the locality who are handicapped and have their visions truncated due to poverty.
Osabarima Baafi Sarpong Kumankoma made this appeal at a sitting meeting in his Palace at Akyem Nsutam on Tuesday, 28th August 2018, where he invited representatives from various companies and institutions situated on his land. Among the invitees who honored the invitation were Radio 1 FM, 100.7MHZ, Kibi Goldfields, Sub Chiefs of the land, Opinion Leaders, GPRTU/PROTOA etc.
It was an exciting meeting with the Chief and there was deliberations on how to develop Akyem Nsutam. Various opinions of various Sub chiefs and others present were shared. The most common among them was an appeal to all to get involved in building the community.
However, it was revealed, that it has long been misconstrued that what they call Bunso Junction is rather Nsutam Roundabout and urged all and sundry especially drivers and the transport agencies to kindly desist from that and help Elevate, Rebrand and popularize Akyem Nsutam for it has been hidden or covered for long.
Osabarima, again, appealed to the government not to abandon the road project for they are eagerly waiting for its completion asap and finally thanked the Okyenhene for his numerous initiatives and the cow given to his community where it was used as a cocktail party for all.
