Samuel Ofosu Ampofo assured party delegates of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC at sewfi wiaso in the western region while addressing them in the wiaso constituency that he will establish a unit in the NDC called the ” The Ballot Box Protection Units ” to protect the ballot box in the 2020 elections, since the NDC suffered this melee during the last elections.
Mr. Ampofo said this as part of usual campaign tour in the western region on Sunday. The national chairman aspirant has been in the region for weeks now embarking on a very vigorous campaign tour to woo party delegates for votes ahead of the NDC congress in November.
The NDC will on the 17/11/2018 converge at the Ghana Trade Fair Authority in LA – Accra , to elect party executives at the national level to man the NDC for the next four (4) years.
Hon. Ampofo in his address to the delegates at twilight on Sunday noted that, he is in the race to correct the wrongs in the 2016 general elections.
The national chairman retorted that, the NPP is desperate for power in the next elections due to their abysmal mark in government, and he as national chairman, will do everything humanly possible to secure the victory of the party , without any hesitation.
“As part of my preposition to seal the victory in 2020 , I have decided to set up a unit called ‘The Ballot Box Protection units’ to protect the ballot and our victory”- Chairman Ampofo revealed.
“As said as political scientist, it behooves on him as chairman if he wins to come up with cogent and pragmatic policies to support the party before and after the elections in 2020″
” we have to make the party an election winning machinery, and that is what I want to establish”- He told the delegates!
He noted that he has been the longest serving organiser of the NDC, and will bring his experiences to bare as national chairman if they give him the nod.
“I’m a teacher , and a utility player as that , kindly give me the opportunity and let’s see what happens before 2020” – He explained and admonished delegates to vote for him as their National Chairman.
He concluded his addressed , and call on the party delegates to give him their mandate come 17th November, 2018.
