What You Don’t Know About Okyenhene’s Chief Of Staff

Just a month ago, Osegyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, Okyenhene, named a new Chief of Staff and below is what you need to know about him.

Nana Twumasi Ankrah holds the title of Kyidomhene (essentially Chief of Logistics) of Osino, in Akyem Abuakwa.  He was educated at Mfantsipim Secondary School in Cape Coast, went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon and an Msc in Business Systems Analysis and Design from the City University of London, UK.

Nana Twumasi Ankrah, a certified Project Management Professional and Technology Infrastructure Library Practitioner has worked professionally for more than 20 years with blue chip companies in the UK and the USA including American Express, First Data Resources and more recently, with the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement System, a subsidiary of the Bank of Ghana.

The new Chief of Staff returns to serve Okyeman, having previously worked successfully (2005 -2008) as the Executive Secretary of the Okyeman Environment Foundation to execute a World Bank funded conservation project.  Nana Twumasi Ankrah is a son of the soil.  His mother is Madam Sophia Gyapomaa Bamfo of Osino.  As the son of Isaac Kobina Amoah, brother to Mrs. Mary Ofori-Atta, wife of Etwieba William Ofori-Atta, he grew up in and was tutored in the home of a Christian, Humanist and Member of the Big Six.

Commenting after the 19th State Council meeting held on October 12th, 2018 in Kyebi, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin said of Nana TwumasiAnkrah, “We welcome back our son, brother, cousin and nephew.  He combines the rich experience of

tradition, culture, education and knowledge that my grandfather, Nana Ofori Atta brought to Okyeman between 1912 and 1943.

Today, more than ever, it is this delicate and needed balance of skill, focus and diplomacy thatthe new Okyeman will benefit from.”

Nana Twumasi Ankrahtakes over the role of Chief of Staff fromBarima Yentumi Boaman. Heserved the Stool and Okyeman for more than 2 decades and retires with the appreciation and supportof the State Council and the Okyenhene.

Further from the deliberations of the StateCouncil meeting, the Ofori Panin Fie, announces the elevation of Dan Ofori Atta, from Public Relations Officer to State Secretary.  Dan, an Etwienena, was born to Etwieba Austin Ageyini Dua Ofori-Atta and Esther Akoto Gyima, daughter of Odehyee Gyima of the Asona Royal Family, Kyebi. Dan was educated at the Labone Secondary School and competed his Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon.  Dan worked briefly in the UK and came home to serve as a history teacher at the Abuakwa State College between 2010 and 2017.  Dan has also worked as General Secretary of the Okyeman Youth Association.  He continues to serve on the Board of the Kyebi Senior High Technical School and on the Board on the Ghana Oil Palm Development Company.  He was until his recent elevation, Assistant Secretary of State in charge of Public Affairs.

Recently, Dan has been instrumental in delivering the anchor between the State Council, Ofori Panin Fie and the 75th Anniversary Planning Committee in honorof Nana Ofori Atta.

Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, said, “Our grandfather whom we recently honored, believed in tradition, culture, education and progress.  He founded and funded the Abuakwa State College where his grandson, Dan has also served. We are pleased that Dan has been recognized for his quiet and devoted service to the Stool and to Okyeman. We look forward to working closely with him again and with Nana Twumasi Ankrah in moving Okyeman and Ghana definitively forward.”

Ofori Panin Fie paid tribute to the meritorious service provided by Mr. E.O. Baah, former State Secretary, who has now moved on to other professional and personal endeavors.
