Just some few hours after the Supreme Court ruling ordered the Electoral Commission to offer an opportunity to all the disqualified presidential candidates to correct errors on their nomination forms, the UFP has found itself in yet another unfortunate situation.
The Vice Presidential Candidate of the party, Mr. David Bonya, who is the Director of Operations has pulled out of the race after been nominated by its flagbearer, Dr. Agyenim Boateng also known as Gyataba about a month ago.
Speaking to Julius of Radio1, he said, he has decided to be a ‘Road Safety Campaigner’ hence the change of mind.
‘I rather thought it necessary to campaign on Safe Drive and Peaceful Election during this crucial period of Ghana’

He continued to say that he did not want to waste his time on something that will not be beneficial to him since the party’s chances of winning the 2016 general election is very slim. ‘I will rather work to redeem souls’ he said.
He further said he was not given a prior notice before he was appointed as the running mate but it was the day the flagbearer presented his (Gyataba) nomination forms to the Electoral Commission that he (Mr. Bonya) was informed.
Answering the question whether his decision was not late, he responded in negative, that, he has informed Dr. Agyenim Boateng six days ago so if the party could not get a replacement he is not to be blamed but was very sure the problem has been fixed.
Mr Bonya has since signed a contract with the National Road Safety Commission and has began his work.
