Mr. Nkansah Ntori, Chairman of the African Rice Advocacy Council has diffused speculations of supposed plastic rice on the Ghanaian market. This according to him is an authoritative response coming from the folds of the Ghana Rice Advocacy council which oversees all issues pertaining to rice production, importation as well as sale in the country.

Mr. Ntori who was speaking to Rite news in an exclusive interview on the Rite midday news debunked what he called a circulating propaganda video which depicts the manufacture of plastic rice. This he described as sheer propaganda devised to create fear and panic among the consuming public.

He stressed that patronizing and consuming made in Ghana rice this festive season and beyond was the safest option. He described the quality of made in Ghana rice as ‘outstanding’ because there are no preservatives added making it safe for the health of consumers.

He also praised the fact that made in Ghana rice was now free of stones unlike previously when consumers complained of this development. This he attributed to the availability of the requisite equipment which are used in destoning the rice before being packaged. In the end, he explained, the products are completely rid of any undesirable elements such as stones.

Mr. Nkansah therefore urged Ghanaians to buy made in Ghana rice and stop patronizing foreign rice which he said fetched these foreign countries more in foreign exchange and more job opportunities at the expense of the local economy.

He, on behalf of the Ghana Rice Advocacy Council encouraged Ghanaians to appreciate their products and ignore any attempts that seek to deceive Ghanaians from patronizing ‘made in Ghana’ products.
