There has been a lot of controversies that has surfaced after the National Democratic Congress’ [NDC] defeat in the December 2016 general elections. The abysmal performance of the party in the election led to the formation of the Prof. Kwesi Botwe – led committee to unravel the cause of their defeat. But, instead of the party members channeling their grievances to the committee most of them have taken to the media to voice out their sentiments prominent among them are Members of Parliament, national executives, former executives and constituency executives.
The former National Organizer, Boateng Gyan, former National Chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei, MP for Yunyoo, Hon. Joseph Bipoba Naabu and a host others are accusing the former president, John Mahama and the people he surrounded himself with for the party’s defeat.
However, the National Organizer, Kofi Adams, South Tongu MP, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, and the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah have rubbished that allegations and jumped to the defence of the former first gentleman.
Latest to join the bout is the Youth Organizer for Fanteakwa South Constituency, Mr. Mark Okraku, who has also added his voice to accusations and counter accusations that has become the order of the moment in the party. He stated categorically that the former president’s hands are clean and must not be dragged into the cause of the 2016 electoral defeat of the party. He blamed the situation the party find itself in now on the leadership of the party at the national level.

Mr. Okraku made this known on the Saturdays’ Socio-political talk show dubbed ‘The Issues’ on Radio1 hosted by Owuraku Asamoah.
He further charged all faithful party members to air their grievances at any opportunity given at any time without any equivocation.
