Minister for Children, Gender and Social Protection, Ms. Otiko Afisa Djaba has stated unequivocally that she can never lust after former President John Mahama.

She explained that, the former President is her cousin does any amorous affair will amount to incest.

The Gender Minister disclosed this while reacting to claims that her incessant critic of Mr. Mahama is because he rejected an arranged family between them.

According to one Haruna Mahama, Otiko father, the late Henry Djaba wanted to take advantage of the friendship he had with E.A Mahama, father of the ex-president to arrange the marriage.

On Haruna Mahama’s facebook wall he claimed:

President Mahama and Otiko are cousins. By Gonja custom cousins, that is a male child and female child of brother and sister respectively can marry and so former President Mahama could marry Otiko. In Gonja most marriages are contracted this way.

Indeed there was to be an arranged marriage between a very handsome, humble and “bookworm” President Mahama (long before he became MP for Bole-Bamboi) and Otiko which never worked out because President Mahama was not interested!!

Former President Mahama saw Otiko as an abrasive, arrogant and a “too known” lady he could not control. President Mahama later married his wife Lordina Mahama, who was very beautiful, curvy with an excellent back.

Since then Otiko has not forgiven President Mahama. She later decided to join the NPP just to have her pound of flesh on someone she really loved and wanted to marry. Perhaps her attacks and her arrogant refusal to apologise for insults he rained on former President Mahama in the past are because she is jealous.

But in a rebuttal, Madam Otiko Djaba on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday said the claims are all a figment of the imagination of a “confused Haruna Mahama”.

She noted that no such arrange was made between her and former President John Mahama to make her bitter.

The National Womens Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) stressed that, all his critic against Mr. Mahama was borne out of his failure to transform the northeners who are still wallowing in abject poverty.

Otiko Djaba added that, former President Maham remains her brother and will accord him the needed respect.
