Stop creating confusing and tensions on chieftaincy- Okyehene

The Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin has charged the youth and non- royals who have in recent times arrogated to themselves, the duties of kingmakers by installing chiefs to put a stop to it.

According to him, the situation is creating unnecessary tensions and confusions in a number of traditional areas in the country.

Okyehene made this known when the newly installed chief of Akyem- Apapam and chief of Akyem Ankaase were introduced and sworn in as tradition demand at his palace at Kibi in the Eastern region.

There have been a chieftaincy dispute in recent time of Ghana, in which some people intend to lose their lives, others too sustained various injuries over who should be crowned as chief in some part of the country, especially Eastern region at Akyem- Apapam which led to the closed down of all schools in the communities. Also at Kwahu similar thing happen there.
