Co – Operate cocoa farmers and marketing union held their 5th annual meeting at Osino

Fanteakwa District CCP- Cocoa farmers and marketing union Ltd today held their 5th annual  meeting  at Osino in the eastern region under the theme; engaging  the youth in the cocoa production , the hope of Ghana’s economy. During the program, the cocoa health and extension division (CHED) officer Mr. Charles Kabutey Okansey at New Tafo spoke about the introduction of pollination, irrigation and rehabilitation of old disease cocoa farmers under the new government .

He said this is going to help the cocoa farmers to produce more cocoa for the country especially the rehabilitation processes .The new government has introduce the rehabilitation for farmers to cut down their cocoa trees which has been planted over 25years ago to place new ones. He added that the new government is going to compensate every farmer who practices the rehabilitation processes for three years .

Mr Charles Kabutey Okansey the Cocoa Officer of New Tafo said the introduction of this processes by the new government can help the Cocoa farmers to produce more Cocoa in the Country
