Help fight galamsey: Eric Kwakye Daffour to traditional leaders

The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Eric Kwakye Daffour has appeal to the traditional leaders, stakeholders and residents of Akyem Asafo to help the government to combat against illegal mining “galamsey” in their area as it’s polluting our water bodies degrading our lands and other properties in the area.

He made these at a durbar in Akyem Asafo in the East Akim Municipality of the Eastern Region when celebrating Ohumkan Festival and also Coronation of the Queen Mother , Nana Antwiah Agyeiwah Kodie. Nana Antwiah Agyeiwah Kodie in her speech appeal the people of Akyem Asafo to be unite and law abiding to support her in development of the community.

She also appeal to government to come into their aid in terms of development. The acting chief who is also the Kontihene of the community, Nana Baah Amantem II, Queen Mother, Nana Antwiah Agyeiwah Kodie and their elders through the Regional Minister presented 140 acres of land indenture documents to thee (3) governments institutions in their community which include Ghana Police Service, Health Service and Educational service.
