Zoomlion Workers Embarked on Sit down Strike

The workers of Zoom lion Ghana Limited in the eastern capital Koforidua have embarked on a sit down strike beginning from today Thursday till their demands are met. As a result of this the principal streets in the central business district of Koforidua are filled with pockets of rubbish.
According to the cross section of their workers who spoke to radio one correspondent Cornelius Adjetey, on condition of anonymity said they have not being paid for the past seven months and all effort to get them paid for has proved fertile.
They said the salary is paltry and have families to feed, clothe and shelter so owing to this, cannot continue to bear the hardship their grappling with.
In an interview with the sanitation officer at the New Juabeng Municipal Assembly, Francis Kwame Sarfo said he was alerted this morning that Koforidua Township is unkempt.

He said zoom lion is being paid from the common fund at source so the assembly as of now is not owing zoom lion, so he has impressed upon the regional director of zoom lion as matter of urgency to take immediate steps to ensure that the turn is rid of filth.
He finally urged the general public to abate the indiscriminate disposal of waste in order to make our envious clean and conductive for living.
