Chinese government support galamsey fight – Sun Baohong

Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Madam Sun Baohong has stated that, Chinese government is in support to the fight against illegal mining known as ‘’Galamsey’’

According to her, the move by Ghanaian government has attached great importance to fighting against illegal mining and the introduction of relevant policies and measures.

She said, the Chinese government has always educated Chinese citizens to abide by the laws and regulations in the host country, conduct business lawfully, honestly and pursue sustainable development.

Speaking at a donation ceremony at the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council in the Eastern Region, Madam Sum Baohong said, ‘’China support the Ghanaian government to take a legal and comprehensive approach in fighting against illegal mining. We are willing to deepen cooperation in green development with the Ghanaian side, she lamented.

She reiterated that Ghanaian media can take an objective and impartial outlook of the issue of illegal mining as well as a correct view of the Chinese government position on illegal mining ‘’thus playing a constructive role in promoting china – Ghana Traditional Friendship.” she stated.
