Residences at Bunso threatening to demonstrate over series of accidents

The youth of Akyem Nsutam in the Fanteakwa District of Eastern Region are lacing boots and preparing to fly their placards in a demonstration against the series of accidents, recently happening at Bunso junction due to lack of speed rumps which is a potential death trap.
The youth, promised to paint the streets and hit on the road for demonstration at Bunso Junction by blocking the main Accra – Kumasi high way road, this decision was taken against Ghana Highway Authority, MP for the area –Arafat and Minister of Road and Transport- Honourable Kwaku Amoako Attah and also MP for Atiwa East, for their negligence for not doing their work properly.
Speaking to radio1 news correspondent, Nana Kwabena Addo, residences and opinion leaders of Bunso Nsutam is calling on Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) for matter of urgency to construct speed rumps and pedestrians crossing.
Assembly man for the area Hon. Eric Bosompem and the GPRTU chairman Oklu, emphasized the worrying frequent vehicular on knocking down of pedestrians, particularly pupils (students) and residences crossing the road.

Statement signed by the respective opinion leaders, drivers and the residences made available to radio 1 news indicates that,” it could not immediately provide figures, but expressed grave concern over resultant fatalities including death caused by speeding vehicles plying that portion from Bunso junction to custom barrier (Nsutam).”
Some of the residences complained about countless, fruitless effort to get the relevant authorities to address the challenges but avail no result. They called on authority to intervene or assist to expedite action to save the worrying situation, they have given one week ultimatum to authorities to construct speed rumps on the road at Bunso junction, if not that, they will fly their placards in a demonstration.
