Hon. Eric Kwakye Darfour Defends Fulani Herdsmen Over Recent Attacks

The recent clashes between Fulani herdsmen and some Ghanaians have been a matter of wary and the continuous attacks have raised eyebrows and calls on Ghanaian leaders to take quick actions to curb the menace.

However, following the recent clashes at Kwahu Hwehwee and nearby villages the MP for Nkawkaw Constituency who is also the Eastern Regional Minister have bluntly defended the Fulani herdsmen for carrying harmful items such as knives and guns on them.

According to the minister, he sees absolutely nothing wrong in that since they live a jungle life and are always sleeping in the bush so they can defend themselves against attackers.

Even though Hon. Kwakye agreed that how they use their cattle’s to destroy farmlands and produced is very alarming and he highly condemns it, the Fulani’s have no other means of survival.

“I am pleading for calm among my people; in situations like this critical consideration is required if not there could be a social unrest.” He explained to the host of Susubiribi Breakfast show host Captain Kofi Owusu.

Hon. Darfor has also promised citizens of total security and has confirmed the arrival of some police personnel’s from the capital to help restore calm.
