Member of Parliament of the Odododiodoo constituency, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has joined the league of National Democratic Congress (NDC) tycoons that have rubbished the leaked Kwesi Botchwey Committee report possessed by the media.

Speaking on the AM Show on the Joy News TV on Thursday, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye said they would not be forced to put the ‘authentic’ report out in a direct response to suggestion by the host Mamavi Owusu Aboagye’s suggestion for the NDC to consider doing so if they claim the one possessed by the media is fake.

“If you think you can coerce us, induce us, use communist inferior tactics to get us to bring this [the authentic report] then you are lying”, he said.

Host Mamavi Owusu Aboagye asked what the chairman of the committee thought about what was going on in the media and Mr. Vanderpuye replied that he [Prof. Kwasi Botchwey] like all members of the committee have agreed that the report is fake and have decided to disregard it.

“We have met and have resolved, we have examined the media document and compared it to ours and come to a conclusion that, what is going round is not our report”, he replied.

Another member of the NDC that has called for the leaked document to be disregarded is Mr. Ade Coker who is the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the party.

However, Daily Guide reported on Thursday that other members of the NDC like Mr. Allotey Jacobs, the Central Regional Chairman have confirmed that the document possessed by the media is the authentic document.

“Interesting, while Asiedu Nketia was denying it, Bernard Allotey Jacobs, Central Regional chairman of the NDC, confirmed yesterday on peace Fm in Accra that the media publications of the Botchwey report are authentic.

According to him, what is being published had been presented to the NDC National Executive Committee (NEC) members at a meeting and so there was no need to deny it.

He blamed some unknown persons at the party’s headquarters for the leakage of the report – which was kept like a state secret,” the Daily Guide report said.

But Nii Lantey Vanderpuye said the reason for concealing the document to NDC executives only was that it contained strategies for moving forward and that should be privy to them only.

Earlier this week Joy News and some media houses chanced on the report of Prof. Kwesi Botchwey Committee which was set up to investigate why the NDC lost in an abysmal fashion to the New Patriotic Party.

‘Big men’ of the NDC have however come out to challenge the authenticity of the leaked document.
