According to her, most pupils in deprived communities like Fiakonya D.A Basic School go to school and return on an empty stomach. Those who are fortunate enough depend on one Ghana Cedi as money for upkeep until school closes.
“I do not stay with my parents so my uncle gives me 50 pesewas to school everyday” Awudu a class 6 pupil lamented.”as for me,I go home to eat whenever its break.I sometimes do not return because the distance from my house to the school is very far” another pupil revealed .
This she says is devastating and heartbreaking!.Mag asked that,if pupils living in Ghana’s capital are fed by Government on a daily basis, what makes Fiakonya D.A Basic School different?.
