Former Black Stars defender, Samuel Osei Kuffour, is worried about the lack of quality players to fill various positions in the national teams.

Speaking exclusively to Class Sports on Monday, 18 December at the Movenpick hotel during the AITCO CAF Awards, the former Bayern Munich defender said: “I am sad I couldn’t win the Africa Cup of Nations because I don’t have anything to show my children whenever I am talking to them.

“I think we have failed to develop the talents to replace the senior players. It pains my heart because I always talk about the game on television but I also want to see my country winning.

“I think football in Ghana is gradually dying and it is about time the FA realises this and does what is necessary. If these current players retire, who are those that we can rely on to give us the needed results? I believe the FA know what they are doing but we should start to develop the talents we have,” he added.
