Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu has called the bluff of some disgruntled members of his party in the Awutu Senya East constituency in the Central Region who have invoked curses on him and other executives.
The aggrieved members claim that they have been handed a raw deal after their names were removed from a delegates’ list prepared for the party’s polling station elections.
Scores of the displeased party members who claim their numerous petitions addressed to John Boadu has not been acted upon, stormed the dreaded Odupong Gei Kordua River on Friday afternoon to ask the river god to deliver justice in their favour.
But reacting to the development, Mr Boadu said his accusers have nothing good to offer the party hence their decision to resort to cursing leaders of the party.

“How can a member of the party resort to curses as a way of resolving grievances? Their curses won’t scare me; I think they don’t have the party at heart because it doesn’t speak well for a party like NPP” he said on Accra-based Okay FM.
According to Mr Boadu, the disgruntled members have no case because the they contested the elections and lost.
“We never removed their names from the register. They contested for election and lost and that is what they are refusing to understand” he noted.
According to him, the party will soon take the matter up and deal with such members to deter others from doing same.
“I understand the chiefs in their town have taken the issue up and it’s the same way we will also take it up and will also put measures in place to ensure that such issues are not entertained” he added.
Mr Boadu urged party members to use the right channels to resolve their grievances.
Meanwhile, Twafohene of Awutu Traditional area, Nai Quashie Kwaley, is warning of dire consequences if a river deity invoked on the acting General Secretary of the party is not revoked.
Nai Quashie says John Boadu has up to 7-days to revoke the curse invoked by aggrieved members of the party’s Awutu Senya East constituency or face the consequences.
