Robbers Kill Police Officer At Tarkwa, Flee With GHc900,000

A police officer escorting some government officials and Indian nationals of a mining company, was shot and killed on Sunday evening at Tarkwa by robbers.
The officer, Duku Nicholas, was the only casualty in the robbery incident that saw four robbers invade the premises Plat and Plume Gold refinery company Ltd, which is based at Bogoso.
The robbers bound the company’s security man and other workers according to the accounts of Shaibu Bashiru, aged 35 and, Rajinder Singh, aged 50.
The robbers made away with GHc 900,000 after killing the police officer from the Tarkwa Divisional Police Command, who was escorting unspecified amount of money to the company’s premises.

The robbers later abandoned their vehicle, a Nissan Roque with registration number GE 411-16 at Oppong Valley junction near Bogoso.
