Eight Dead In Accident Near Suhum

Eight persons have been confirmed dead in an accident at Mankrong, near Suhum in the Eastern Region.
The accident which occurred Wednesday morning involved two KIA Grand Bird Buses with registration numbers GN 6600-17 and GS 835-16.
The accident occurred when the bus with registration number GN 6600-17 travelling from Kumasi to Accra collided head-on with the other bus which was travelling from Aflao to Kumasi.
The Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ebenezer Tetteh confirmed the deaths to Graphic Online.

“Eight passengers have been confirmed dead,” he said.
The injured have been sent to the Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.
The police are yet to identify the drivers.
DSP Tetteh said the Kumasi bound vehicle was said to have overtaken and crashed head-on with the other KIA Grand Bird Bus.
Bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital morgue for identification and preservation.
