Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has challenged critics suggesting that he is corrupt and has been ‘bought’ by several people to drop cases to provide evidence to back their claims. For him, it is quite irrational to suggest anyone has been bought when no form of evidence is provided to support the claims.
“Bought as in doing what…I mean it doesn’t make sense,” he told an Accra based Joy FM in an interview Thursday morning.
Following the release of the Ace investigative journalists’ number twelve exposé, he has come under attacks from persons who have accused him of unprofessionalism and corruption.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmaker for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, is claiming that Anas Aremeyaw Anas in a video in his possession dubbed ‘Who watches over the watchman’ is seen telling an accused person in a criminal case that he will be paying lawyer Egbert Faibille to drop a criminal case.

According to Anas, claims from the camp of Kennedy Agyapong that he had taken money to quash a story is neither here nor there.
Anas noted that it is also in his interest that “we find a solution to the murder. I’ve been accused of extortion all because of number 12.”
He stated that persons whose names were mentioned in the said ‘who watches the watchman’ video will emerge and speak so the truth will be evident.
“Not even one of this accusations will stand. It will come out as falsehood deliberately aimed at tarnishing my image so that people will not believe what I say. But let me tell you this; no matter what they do, no matter the attempts on my life, I will survive this, I will stand the test of time, I will encourage more young people. If you take Anas today, there will be another Anas tomorrow,” he stressed.
“In the last few days, I have been called a murderer, that I have murdered JB Danquah. In fact, recently I heard that I had even called the BNI and they had even opened the place for me and I had gone to tell (JB Danquah’s) murderer that he should mention some people’s name in the murder” he said.
“Look all those who say they have evidence that I say I’ve been bought…why, senior people in the country…this is a high profile murder case, you have evidence, let them take this evidence to the police. I think by now we should have been invited,” he added.
