Defeated aspiring National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ntim says his loyalty to the party has not waned despite his recent loss.
Mr. Ntim has attempted the position four times in the last 20 years but has been unsuccessful throughout.
He suffered a recent defeat to newly elected National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay during the National Delegates Conference held on Saturday in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
Giving a conciliatory speech after his defeat, Stephen Ntim said his commitment to the party remains unshaken.

“It is rather unfortunate that I have to lose for the fourth time in my attempt to serve the party in the capacity of national chairman. However, once again it is a victory for the New Patriotic Party because we have succeeded in electing our new crop of national officers to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.”
“As usual, my loyalty to the New Patriotic Party is not shaken by what has taken place. We can continue counting on Stephen Ntim as usual because it is party first, thank you all very much,” he said.
Freddie Blay polled 3,021 votes as against his closest contender; Stephen Ntim who had 2,515 votes.
The last contender Dr. Richard Amoako Baah polled a paltry 18 votes.
Before the election, Blay was criticised widely for personally procuring 275 buses for every constituency of the NPP; a move described by many as a vote-buying gimmick.
But his spokespersons defended him.
