The Police in the Central Region have denied reports that an unidentified military man has been lynched at Kasoa.
There were reports Monday morning that some wee smokers at Big Apple, near Budumburam camp, on Thursday night killed a military man.
According to the Chief of Budumburam, Nana Kojo Essel II, claimed on radio that some residents who are living in fear are now fleeing the area due to a possible reprisal
But when contacted, the Kasoa Central District Police Commander, Chief superintendent Ali Damashie, denied the claim that a military man has been killed in the area, saying “there was nothing like that; no such thing happened here on that day they are talking about.”

When Onua FM visited the area at about 9:00am Monday, residents of the area were unaware of any such incident.
Manageress of Lovers Inn Spot situated at ‘Big Apple’ who gave her name only as Maame, told Onua FM she was not aware of any lynching, and that “if there was anything like that, the following day, we would have seen blood at the place”.
Both taxi drivers and commercial motor operators (Okada) in the area said they did not witness any such incident but only heard of people claiming that a military man was lynched.
Meanwhile, Chief superintendent Damashie has called on the public to provide any information leading to finding the body of the supposed lynched military man and subsequent arrest of the perpetrators.
“Budumburam is under my jurisdiction and if there was anything like that, the station officer would have informed me and I would in turn inform my superiors. If the chief or anyone has witnessed this and have information, [they] should get in touch with us,” he pleaded.
“We are ready to protect lives and property. But this lynching, we don’t know” he added.
