1 Cow One Suburb, 500 Women Get Free NHI Registration At Akyem Abuakwah

As part of the 75th Anniversary   Commemoration, each suburb gets a cow, bags of rice, gallons of oil, and 500 women and infants who are termed as vulnerable benefit from free Health Insurance Registration.

These are all initiatives of the Okyenhemaa, Nana Dokua Adutwumwaa to help bridge the gap between the poor and the rich. Also to give the poor access to quality and immediate health care.

Indigenes of Akyem Abuakwa highly appreciated the initiatives and called for more in the ensuing years.

Speaking with the Radio 1 News Correspondents, the PRO of East Akyem Municipal Health Insurance, Mr Godfred Agbesi, said prior to their commencement of the registration, names of the natives were submitted to them and have been approved at their municipal headquarters adding that no woman or child pays a dime after the registration.

The women and Children also expressed their gratitude to the Okyenhene, Okyenhemaa and the organisers of the program.

Today’s program is themed as Okyeman Women’s Empowerment which takes place at the Ofori Panin Fie Kyebi with the Okyenhemaa as the Chairperson. The Program is very well attended and represented by representatives from Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area

Tomorrow will see the Paramount Chief of Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu I grace the program as the special guest among other invited dignitaries and will continues till 26th August 2018. Radio 1 News will be around to update you on all happenings.
