The Fanteakwa South District is a newly created district in the Eastern Region borne out of the ‘mother’ Fanteakwa district.

The newly created district which by now should be in full operation is battling with misunderstanding between Assembly Members as to who to be the District Chief Executive, DCE.

The President of the Republic, H. E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo through consultations and in accordance with the council of state nominated Mr. Ntori Agyabeng to be confirmed by the Assembly Members but on 30th July 2018, the assembly members rejected Mr Ntori Agyabeng when he failed to secure the recommended percentage after the voting.

His refusal by the Assembly members has left the District in limbo and now demands answers to some questions in the district since the district is known to be deprived in terms of developmental projects with poor road networks and unemployment being the major challenges.

The decision not to confirm the nominee is best known to the assembly members and that has left a lot of questions in the minds of the constituents.

Upon several interrogations with the constituents, Radio 1 News puts in summary, what the constituents are asking;

  • What is the secret behind this division among assembly members?
  • Why, is it that Mr. Ntori is not competent enough for the job?
  • Have the assembly members lost focus on their main duty call and now doing politics?
  • Last but not least, are the assembly members ready for development in their electoral areas?

These among other equally frames of questions need to be answered in our constituency. Fanteakwa South is not for Assembly members alone. The earlier the better, we need a District Chief Executive, as soon as possible.
