Bankroller of Division Two side Phar Rangers FC, Nana Yaw Amponsah has stated that the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) are the losers in the aftermath of Thursday’s meeting between the Government of Ghana (GoG) and the Federation of International Football (FIFA).

On Monday, FIFA issued a warning to the Government of Ghana (GoG) to withdraw their liquidation case against the nation’s football governing body or face its wrath.

One of the major steps is that the Government will take steps to discontinue their bid to dissolve the nation’s football governing body.

The Government wrote to FIFA asking for further discussion on the issue for which they have now come to a consensus after the meeting.

FIFA says it will in consultation with the Government of Ghana (GoG) and CAF constitute a ‘Normalization committee’ to run the Ghana Football Association.

The committee will replace the Executive Committee and organise elections for a new executive committee.

FIFA took the decision after a powerful delegation led by Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah, Deputy Chief of Staff Samuel Jinapor, the Minister of Information designate Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

“I believe FIFA has treated the GFA Executive Committee members unfairly, it’s a sad situation but it was expected,” Nana Amponsah told Happy FM.

“I advised some of the Exco members to resign and I know many of them wanted to do it but they didn’t want to betray their colleagues. I know most of them are happy with the coming of the Normalization committee. This is like a form of relief to them.”

Nana Amponsah was asked if he thinks some of the Exco members of the GFA can be added to the Normalization committee, he said:

“They are people with integrity in this country who can be part of the Normalization committee. We can get them even from these currant Exco members. We saw some Exco members who rejected the bribes in the Anas video.”

“The likes of Dr. K.K Sarpong, Togbe Afede, Nana Dormaahene, Kwaku Eyiah, Kojo Addae-Mensah, J.F Mensah among others are people with integrity who are competent enough to be part of the Normalization committee.”

“Honestly there is no way for the Exco members now. FIFA is the mother body and it has spoken.
