The Chief Executive Officer, C.E.O. of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, has eaten the humble pie and apologised to the Central Bank of Ghana, BoG, over his comments which he believes were harsh, uncalled for and inappropriate in the atmosphere of business.
It would be recalled in early this month when 5 banks were dissolved into consolidated banks, BoG released a statement to caution Ghanaians transacting business with Menzgold to stride with caution because they do so at their own risks reason being that Menzgold is not duly licensed for operation.
In an attempt to redeem the image of Menzgold Company and restore the trust in the customers, the CEO took to social media, tweeted and urged his numerous customers to neglect the comments from BoG thereby describing it as a joke and asked BoG to shut up.
However, Precious Minerals Marketing Company, PMMC popped up to defend BoG adding that as far as PMMC is concerned, of which they have the sole mandate to authenticate the license, Menzgold is not licensed yet Menzgold refuted those claims as well.

But in a new tweet on Tuesday, Nana Appiah Mensah says he regrets ever making such comments. To err is human and to forgive is divine. He therefore urged all who were directly or indirectly affected to forgive his unforgivable comments adding that steps are duly taken to resolve the issue amicably with the BoG and all stakeholders concerned.
“Owing to the fallible nature of man, I sincerely apologise for my initial reaction to the bank of Ghana press release. We’ve engaged and are cooperating with the BoG and other state agencies to cordially resolve the issue in the interest of our beloved republic of Ghana. #Ghana Shall Prosper.”
Nana Appiah Mensah and other officials of the company are scheduled to meet the Economic and Organised Crimes Office, EOCO, on Friday, August 17, the subject of which the investigative body has yet to disclose even though it acknowledges inviting officials of the company.
