Controversial preacher, prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah has admonished the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to not to choose former president John Dramani Mahama as its presidential candidate for the 2020 polls.

According to him, the NDC would lose the elections if the party presents John Mahama as the presidential candidate.

“I hear people saying that President John Mahama could come again. In the spiritual realm, it is not so. Someone can say NDC can win the election but to me, not with former president John Mahama. If they bring Mahama thousand times, he will lose a thousand times. Mahama can’t be president again in Ghana,” he insisted.

The NDC has slated December 7, 2018, to elect a presidential candidate to lead it into the next poll.

The party lost to the New Patriotic Party in the 2016 elections truncating the second term bid of John Mahama.

According to the General Secretary of the NDC, six people have so far expressed interest in leading the party as its flagbearer.

“We have about six people who have written to us. I can confirm that Dr. Ekow Spio-Gabrah has written to us, Professor Joshua Alabi, Sylvester Mensah was the first to write and Stephen Atubiga. A couple of the people who have written to but they don’t appear to be in frontline politics,” he said.

But it is unclear whether John Mahama, who has received the endorsement from a section of the party including NDC Members of Parliament, is part of the six.

Meanwhile speaking on Ekosii Sen on Asempa FM on Monday, Owusu Bempah who is the founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries insisted that “John Mahama cannot be president again in Ghana.”

“It is God who removed him from the seat. He will not come again. The same way Kufuor and Jerry Rawlings can longer be president it is the same with Mahama,” Owusu Bempah added.
