Mahama Will Win Election 2020 By 85% – Okudzeto Ablakwa

The Minority Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has given a strong indication that former president John Mahama will soon announce his interest for flagbearer position for the NDC in the 2020 elections.

Over 5 aspirants have so far declared an interest in contesting, but John Mahama is yet to make plain his ambitions clear.

Speaking on NDC internal elections, Mr. Ablakwa admonished the various factions to embark on campaigns devoid of hate speech and violence.
He also predicted an overwhelming victory for President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming NDC presidential primaries.

“I have every confidence that former president John Mahama is going to win this primaries. I can predict very safely that former President Mahama is not going to win by anything less than 85%,” he said.

The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has told Citi News that six persons have so far confirmed their intentions to contest for the party’s presidential ticket.

The party in a press conference last Thursday, August 2, lifted the ban on campaigning for all party leadership positions.

“We have about six people who have written to us. I can confirm that Dr. Ekow Spio-Gabrah has written to us, Professor Joshua Alabi, Sylvester Mensah was the first to write and Stephen Atubiga. A couple of the people who have written to but they don’t appear to be in frontline politics.”

94 NDC MPs endorse Mahama

Ahead of the party’s polls, 94 NDC Members of Parliament out of 106 have reportedly endorsed John Dramani Mahama to lead the party in the 2020 elections although the former President hasn’t formally thrown his hat into the race.

According to the leader of the 94 MPs, Edwin Nii Lantey Vandapuye, John Mahama is the only candidate who can lead the party to victory in the next polls.
