A Former Transport Minister and Aspirant for the Volta Region’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairmanship race, Dzifa Attivor, cannot envision a Ghana led by President Nana Akufo-Addo beyond 2020.

This is due to what she described as the abysmal performance of his government.

Speaking at her campaign launch in Ho on Monday, Mrs. Attivor said the mood in the country is that of pain and regret.

“The only reason I invited you to today’s gathering is to inform you that the people of Ghana are no longer ready for President Akufo Addo beyond 2020, and are ready to see the NDC back in government. The NPP in opposition made promises to transform Ghana, but all we see today in Ghana is one family that is destroying the solid foundation John Mahama, and the NDC laid.”

Giving reasons for joining the race in the upcoming Regional Executive Elections, the former Transport Minister believes, it is expedient for the region which is the stronghold of the party to benefit from her leadership style which includes empowering the grassroots and capturing power from the current NPP Government.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, there’s, therefore, the urgent need for the NDC to put its house in order, to compete strongly in 2020. It is against this background that I am putting up myself to lead the NDC in the Volta Region.”

“As we are all aware, the Volta Region is the party’s World Bank, it is therefore necessary for the party, to have the kind of leadership that can build a party with the capacity to stand the test of time. I am here to unite the NDC.”

The party in the region after successful vetting of candidates is preparing to host its Regional Congress on September 1st.

Dzifa Attivor is contesting the incumbent Chairman, Gyapong Kudzo.
