In a show of defiance, the former Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health, Robert Cudjoe has urged the public to disregard any letter purporting to remove him from that position.

A letter signed by the Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of Information, Nana Kwabena Adjei-Mensah said Mr Robert Cudjoe had been re-assigned to the Information Services Department (ISD).

He is being replaced by Elorm Ametepe, a statement from the ministry has announced. Mr. Ametepe is also a staff of the ISD.

“The Ministry of Health wishes to inform all media houses, its stakeholders and the public that Mr Elorm Ametepe has been posted from the Information Services Department (ISD) as the new public relations officer (PRO) of the Ministry of Health.

“Mr Ametepe replaces Mr Robert Cudjoe, who has been re-assigned to the Information Services Department (ISD) at the Ministry of Information.

“You are, therefore, by this release kindly requested to direct all public relations related matters and enquiries through Mr Elorm Ametepe on telephone number 0559383045.

“The Ministry wishes to take this opportunity to thank all its stakeholders and partners for their continuous support,” the statement noted.

But Mr Robert Cudjoe in an interview with Kasapafmonline.com, who said his purported removal is politically motivated vowed to resist any attempt to remove him from office, adding that he remains the Public Relations Officer for the Health Ministry.

“Ignore that letter, I remain the PRO of the Ministry of Health…ignore that letter, I haven’t seen that letter. I’m a civil servant, I’m serving the state of Ghana. I’m not serving a political party, I’m not serving a government. Even if I’m serving a government let everybody know that I’m a civil servant I don’t involve myself in political party activities. But I’ve been with the NPP, this is my twenty sixth year when it was the Danquah-Busia club. So if anybody thinks he can push me away…transfers are normal with the civil service but this is orchestrated and I don’t know why people will orchestrate against me. If I’ve done anything wrong deserving of death, I don’t fear to be hanged but if I’ve not done anything wrong God will never give my life to anybody. What sort of politics is this” Mr Cudjoe fumed?
