KNUST Faces Indefinite Close Down

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST, who is in the News today is facing an indefinitely closure till further notice.

This was due to the massive vandalism that accompanied the so called peaceful demonstration that turned out to be rowdy and called for police and military intervention.

However, the Regional Security Council and university authorities have also imposed a 6am to 6pm curfew on the school starting today.

The students are expected to vacate the university premises latest by 12 noon Tuesday, 23rd October 2018 where only the  foreign students would be allowed on campus with heavy security protection.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah has also revealed this to the media that they would need time to probe the issue and menace created hence the need to close down the school.

This is one of the fierce demonstrations witnessed in the academic institutions in Ghana and one can tell that concerned parents out there are wailing for their children’s safety.

Meanwhile, information available to Radio1 News says a delegation from the ministry of education, led by the minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh will be meeting university authorities on Tuesday to deliberate on the menace created.
