J.B. Dankwa Was An Embodiment Of Democracy In Ghana – E/R Minister

The Eastern Regional Minister who doubles as the head of REGSEC and Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw Constituency, Hon Eric Kwakye Darfour, has described the Late J.B. Dankwa as great mentor and an embodiment of Democracy in Ghana.
In a phone interview on the Susubiribi Morning Show on Radio 1FM, 100.7MHZ on Thursday November 29 2018, he told he host Captain Kofi Wusu in response to who really funded the J.B. Dankwa Memorial Centre of which the President of Ghana commissioned on 28th November, 2018 that he showcased what really Democracy is and he was a prolific poet.
“J.B Dankwah was a lawyer, Politician, Historian, a Philosopher and a man of so many characteristics. He really trained himself as a nation builder and as a brother to the late Sir Ofori Atta I, he had a great thoughts for the nation”, the Eastern Regional Minister said.
According to the Hon. Minister, the late J.B Dankwah was an integral entity in changing the name from Gold Coast to Ghana. He said the ruling New Patriotic Party has early on discussed how to remember such a philanthropist but unfortunately the NPP lost power to the NDC and what they had planned doing siezed.

He added that the late J.B. Dankwah immensely contributed to the traditions of NPP and if he had lived longer, the Democracy of Ghana would have been transformed. But he died in condemn prisons for about 53 years ago.
However, he said the J.B. Dankwa Memorial Centre was in 2004 started by the NPP government till the got stuck until the Huawei company come to partner them and bore almost all the cost of the Center. Even that he said the Centre belongs to the Nation and all Citizens can go there to make the necessary use of it. He therefore advised the public to maintain it properly because it is a big asset of the Country.
The Centre is in memory and honour of the late J.B. Dankwa an astute founding member of the Dankwa- Busia- Dombo Party, the now New Patriotic Party. He was an EDUCATIONIST and a real statesman.
