Spokesperson of the Normalization Committee Dan Kwaku Yeboah has denied rumours circulating around that President Nana Akkufo Addo wants to meet Asamoah Gyan and Dede Ayew to settle the grievances between them regarding the Black Stars captaincy role and therefore any news of such should be regarded as false.
There has been rumors that the two have been fighting over the Black Stars captaincy for some time now which is part of the cause of their poor performances during national duties for some time now.
“It is never true that the president wanted to meet them but is rather the other way round. The president was in Ethiopia for an AU SUMMIT and used that opportunity to pay a surprise visit to the players in camp and to encourage them to make the nation proud. It was after the conversation that Asamoah Gyan told the president that he will be coming to see him and will be coming with Andre Ayew which the president accepted”.
Ghana won by 2-0 against Ethiopia and hoping to extend their winning race against Kenya and subsequently Sierra Leone to make sure they book their place to the Total African Cup Of Nations Cameroon 2019 next year.
