The Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman Constituency, Hon. Thomas Ampem has disclosed that the people of Asuogyaman and workers of the Akosombo Textiles Limited (ATL) are very happy with President Nana Akuffo Addo’s promise to help revive the Akosombo Textile Limited (ATL).
He made this revelation on Radio1fm 100.7, on the Susubiribi Morning Show when the host Captain Kofi Wusu asked him of how they took the President’s promise he made during his first day visit as part of the three days visit in the Eastern Region on 23rd November 2018.
According to Hon. Thomas, the people of Asuogyaman and workers of ATL were a bit disappointed when they had the notice that ATL was not inclusive on the President’s schedule as he tours the Eastern Region but they felt happy when President Nana Akuffo Addo made a stop at Akosombo to interact with them to help revive ATL.
However, he said their priority is that the president will help revive ATL under the One District One Factory (1D1F) as it will help create over 5000 employment and also help boost the economy as many complains have been made about it.

He said their major concern was for the President to visit ATL for deliberations to be made on how the factory can be revived since it brought employment in the past not for only the people in Asuogyaman but within Lower Manya and Yilo Krobo.
The MP added that the words of commitment was what the people of Asuogyaman and workers of ATL were expecting from the President, therefore it is their hope and prayer that Nana Akuffo Addo’s promise to revive the company will be fulfilled as it will create job not for only the people in and around Asuogyaman but their customers selling their fabrics too.
He therefore urged the media to always follow up on the President’s promise on daily basis to serve as reminder
