E/R: Ohemaa Foundation Donates School Items And Stationery Worth GH¢ 5,000 To Akyem Nsutam Presby School

Ohemaa foundation, a non-governmental organization, has donated Exercise books, School bags, Pen, Pencils and other writing materials and stationery worth GH¢ 5,000 to Akyem Nsutam Presby primary School.

The Staff and Pupils of the Presbyterian Primary School at Akyem Nsutam in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region on 20th December, 2018 received such school items from Ohemaa Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) which is based in Holland and is owned by a Ghanaian and native of Nsutam.

Speaking at the program, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ohemaa Foundation, Abena Konadu Osei thanked the Staff and students as well as the chiefs that had gathered there to welcome her and other members of the foundation because she did not expect such a huge number of pupils and staff of the school because the turn out to such programs at times is not encouraging. She said that they did not only give to the school but also received a lot of love from the school especially with the cultural performance from the school children.

Abena Konadu expressed that the relationship that has been created between the foundation and the school will go a long way and hope to do more for the school.

“The motive for establishing the foundation is because I have passion for kids, I always love to help kids that are in need and I believe it’s a calling”, she stated in an interview with Radio 1 News. She stated the foundation has made some donations in some parts of Accra.

She said that as part of the foundation’s social program to give out to, they decide to focus on children in schools that needs help this year and she expressed that she selected Nsutam Presby Primary because she is a native of Nsutam and saw the necessity to demonstrate her love to her hometown, therefore she decided to give back in the development of the kids since they are the future of every community and the country at large with the little support she can.

She disclosed that there are a lot to do for the school and she is going to put that into consideration and she will discuss with her team on how to figure out measures on projects that when Implemented can help the kids and the school in general as well as set up plans that can help in the development of the school in future. She added that this donation is not going to end there but more will be coming.

Abena there advised her fellow natives living outside the country that they should not only come for vacations to visit their hometowns and return but should help in the development of their communities especially in the development of school children donating some items that they can.

The Head teacher of Nsutam Presby Primary, Mr. Eric Kwabena Boateng noted that he is overwhelmed by the items that Abena Konadu Osei has donated to the school because he was not expecting such enormous school items from the foundation as she promised them she will be bringing them some items. He thanked Abena Konadu Osei and her Foundation for the kind gesture by donating the school items to the school.

Mr. Boateng urged other natives of the community both in the town and outside the country to follow the footsteps of Abena Konadu Osei to help develop the school in the community because it belongs to the community. He said that they should help in any little way that they can to support in the development of the kids for them to become great people of the country and promised that he will see to it that the items will be well taken care of for them to last long. And share it accordingly to the kids.
