Eastern Soccer Academy Wins Radio 1 Xmas Gala 2018

Eastern Soccer Academy from Osiem emerges as the winner of this year’s Radio1 Xmas Gala and took away a trophy, set of jerseys, two footballs and a handsome cash prize while Red Lions from Asiakwa and Atiwa Rangers from Adukrom place second and third respectively.

 The second and third positions also took home a set of jerseys, footballs and a varied cash prizes.

This year’s Radio1 Christmas Gala which is aimed at bringing unity among the teams within Eastern Region and to also discover talents as well as hardworking and respectful players in the region. In all 10 teams got registered and obviously, Eastern Soccer Academy carried the day.

The program which began on 21st December and ended on the 23rd December at Kyebi Oman Park was very much successful and witnessed the audience of rank and files in the football industry gracing the tournament.

There was much display of talents, celebrations and socialization among others which cropped up in making the tournament one of the best tournaments organized in Ghana.

The President of King Solomon F.C. and also Representative for scouting players in the Eastern Region for Accra Hearts of Oak as well as Anderlecht in Belgium, Alhaji Nash was present, Richard Oppong Ansong (Wadaada), the President of Kakyire F.C. commended Rdio1 for organizing the Christmas Gala for the players to showcase their talent and also applauded the players for showing up at the event to make the program a success and  encouraged the players of the various teams to be hardworking and continue to train hard to maintain their fitness level.

Out of the ten teams that registered for the Radio1 Christmas Gala and played at Oman Park in Kyebi, four teams were able to make it to the Semifinals. Eastern Soccer Academy and Red Lions made out of the semifinal teams to the finals to climax the occasion.

The best player of the Gala went to Patrick Asiedu of Red lions and he had a boot as well as a football, top scorer also went to Koomson Biney of Atiwa Rangers who also took home a boot as well as a football and the best keeper went to Emmanuel Amoah and he had a pair of Gloves.

The Chairman of the Occasion who happens to be the Chief of Bunso in the Eastern region, Osabarima Abeam Ofori Aninkra was very much honored for his sponsorship among other dignitaries.

The Hon. Minister for works and housing, Hon. Atta Akyea, the NPP constituency chairman, Mr Yaw Boakye, Soul Restaurant, Hon. Kwame Asiedu- Assemblyman for Kyebi and the likes.
