Christmas Gift: Nsutam Chief Shares Food Items Worth ₵6,000 To Widows

The Chief of Akyem Nsutam in the Fanteakwa south district in Eastern Region who doubles as the Chief Executive Officer of Kumakuma Company Ltd, Osabarima Baafi Sarpong Kumakuma has committed his widows mite in ensuring that all the widows and widowers in his community also got food to eat during the Christmas season.
In all he shared food items comprising of Oil, Rice, Tomatoes and Soft Drinks for about 120 widows and widowers which cost him about ₵6,000.
Speaking to Radio 1FM reporter, the chief, Osabarima Baafi Sarpong Kumakuma, said he could not sleep when the thoughts of the widows and widowers cropped up in his mind. He was thinking how they would also celebrate the season should their better halves were alive. So he decided to do something which would ease some of the mountain thoughts of these widows and thus how come he took that step to provide them with rice, oil, tomatoes to cook food in their homes to feed themselves and their families.
According to Osabarima Baafi Sarpong Kumakuma, he did same last year but for the old and invalids and he promised this initiative has come to stay in that he is determined to expand it if not to cover the entire community then to add the relevant needy in the community.

He used the opportunity to advise the community to stay in unity with their families, neighbours and friends to ensure peace prevails in the community and also urged the natives of the land to periodically come home and to support the community in development. He again thanked Nsutam Concerned Association for their contributions towards providing good healthcare in the community.
The program, however, was well attended by his subchiefs and a majority of the community indegenes. There was musical interludes where the widows and the chiefs danced to shed off their problems.
